Propane vs. Natural Gas for a Whole-House Generator

Natural gas
Where suitable utility gas service is available, natural gas can avoid on-site fuel storage. The installation still needs adequate supply and properly planned piping for the generator's requirements.
Propane
Propane is stored on the property and can be an option where natural gas is unavailable or not preferred. Tank capacity, placement and refilling logistics become part of the project.
Which is better?
There is no universal winner. Consider local fuel availability, generator specifications, expected runtime, property constraints and the work required to provide adequate fuel flow.
